Lakehills UMC serves the community with the following out-reach:
Tuesdays from 4:30-6 pm, we offer the TWIGS after-school program for kindergarten to 5th grade following the Bandera ISD calendar. This program derives its name from the quote, "Education forms the common mind. Just as the twig is bent, the tree's inclined." by Alexander Pope. All children of the community are welcome for a short Bible lesson, music, arts and crafts and a meal.
Lakehills UMC’s new Fishes & Loaves Ministry is in partnership with Hill Country Daily Bread Ministry (HCDBM) in Boerne, Texas. Families needing assistance with bimonthly food boxes, clothing, school supplies, etc should call HCDBM at 830-755-5200 to set up a one-time meeting to discuss family requirements. After this initial appointment in Boerne, a Lakehills UMC Family Mentor will deliver the food boxes to the family’s home. HCDBM is located at 140 Industrial Dr, Boerne TX 78006. CURRENTLY ON HOLD UNTIL OUR NEW KITCHEN IS BUILT: at 5:30 pm, the Bread of Life Feeding Ministry. Everyone, regardless of income is welcome to join us for a hot meal and fellowship. There is no charge for the meal, but all donations are graciously received. Meals are also delivered to shut-ins.
